Thats The Power Of The Cross - Separates Us From Sin

Valley Health is asking for homemade face masks.  This request was made from Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, but Pastor Darren feels sure that Rockingham Memorial and Augusta Medical could also use the same masks. The instructions on making these masks are attached below if anyone from Moscow would like to help make them.  Pastor Darren will make arrangements to deliver them to the hospitals.  If you are interested, please contact Pastor Darren on getting them to him.  Please also share this request with others or members of the congregation that does not have access to a computer or the internet.

From: Pastor Darren,

While the COVID-19 virus has greatly disrupted our lives, I want you to know, as your pastor- I remain committed to keeping the church office up and running for the duration of this health crisis to address any of your spiritual need that may arise.

Also note, the church building will remain open throughout the week, with the exception of Monday, for anyone who would like to come in, sit silently with God, or spend time in prayer. I would only ask that when you visit, please stay a safe distance from others and refrain from shaking hands or hugging.

While Social distancing and good hygiene are currently our best defense for beating this virus, keep in mind there are a handful of other ways we can remain faithful to being Christ’s Church, while still not gathering together as we normally do. Here are a few of my suggestions:

  1. Spend time praying for others, (doctors, nurses, first- responders, the elderly, at-risk persons)
  2. Read your Bible- try reading through the entire New Testament, or study intensely the Easter story.
  3. Read that Christian book you’ve been putting off!
  4. Send a “thinking of you” card to others in the church.
  5. Take a nature walk or get some good exercise.
  6. Meditate on a passage of scripture and seek to understand it deeper.
  7. Memorize scripture. This is fun for the children too.
  8. Telephone family & church friends and pray together over the phone.
  9. Continue to tithe and faithfully support the Moscow ministry.
  10. Take time to rest your body and your mind. Try turning off electronics or the 24hr news channel.

Stay encouraged. Keep a positive attitude. And don’t forget, there are some fun and creative ways we can remain faithful to “keeping the faith” ( 2 Tim. 4:7 ) during this difficult and trying time.

Also: Church services and activities will be cancelled for the month of March due to the virus.  We will try to keep you updated on church activities and information through emails and the website.  Please spread information that you receive through the website and emails with other church members that may not have the access of receiving the information through the internet.  If you know of anyone who would like to be added to the e-mail list, please have them contact Lee Landes at or call/text at 540-405-1928.   Thank You and Stay Safe!
